You can apply for education at Luovi all around the year. Luovi offers vocational education in Finnish.

Who is qualified to study at Luovi?
Applicants with a reason for special education, guidance and consultation in studies or employment are qualified to study at Luovi. Reasons may include ie.:
- health issues
- learning difficulties
- social difficulties
We will also consider the applicant’s suitability and readiness to study at the desired field of study.
Furthermore you need satisfactory language skills in Finnish. If needed, the language test is held within the application process. When choosing students, we may organize an interview, tryout or entrance examination and if needed, a suitability test.

What attachments do we need?
When applying, the applicant must provide at least one current expert opinion which points out their reason for special education. If you are applying for many different units or fields of studies, we only need one copy of each attachment. List of required attachments on our Finnish website.

Can non-Finnish people apply to study in Luovi?
Yes, if the applicant qualifies for special needs education and their Finnish language skills are sufficient.

Does Luovi have dormitories and does living in a dormitory cost anything?
Luovi has dormitories in Alavus, Joensuu, Muhos and Oulu. One may apply for a dormitory place when applying to study in Luovi. Luovi’s dormitories can accommodate a limited number of students. Dormitories are closed on weekends and holidays.
Living in a dormitory is free for students in vocational or preparatory education.
If I am not qualified to study in Luovi, what other options do I have and who should I contact?
Most bigger vocational colleges also accept non-Finnish-speaking students. The colleges’ Student Affairs Offices should provide further details.
